What is Individual Therapy and How Can It Help?

Individual therapy is a powerful tool for self-discovery and emotional healing. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, past trauma, relationship challenges, or life transitions, therapy provides a safe space to:

  • Build a healthier relationship with yourself — including the parts of you that feel shame, fear, or self-criticism.

  • Develop effective coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelming emotions.

  • Explore relationship dynamics, patterns, and past traumas to uncover the roots of emotional pain and create lasting change.

  • Navigate life transitions with support and clarity.

  • Improve daily functioning impacted by depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mood disorders.

  • Reparent yourself in a safe therapeutic space — offering healing to the wounded parts of you.

Our Evidence-Based Therapy Approaches

Internal family Systems

Have you ever found yourself saying, “A part of me wants this, but another part feels completely the opposite”? That’s because we all have different "parts" within us — some protective, some wounded, some longing for connection.

Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Richard Schwartz, PhD, helps you move away from self-blame and into self-compassion. Rather than thinking, “I’m an anxious person,” IFS allows you to recognize, “I have an anxious part that is trying to protect me.” This shift creates room for understanding and healing.

Our IFS therapists will guide you in identifying these parts, building a compassionate relationship with them, and finding your core Self — the calm, confident, and wise part of you that leads your internal system.

Cognitive behavioral Therapy

.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. Our CBT therapists will work collaboratively with you to recognize unhelpful beliefs that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, or low self-esteem.

Through CBT, you'll learn how to reframe these thoughts, develop healthier coping strategies, and build emotional resilience. This therapy is especially effective for those dealing with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma responses, and life transitions.

Brainspotting

If you feel emotionally stuck or unable to move past certain memories or experiences, Brainspotting may be the key to unlocking deeper healing. This trauma processing method uses eye positions to access areas of the brain where trauma and distress are stored.

Our trained Brainspotting therapists will help you locate these “brainspots” — where unresolved trauma is held — and gently process the emotions tied to them. This technique is powerful for trauma survivors, those coping with chronic stress, or anyone feeling blocked in their healing journey.
