Perinatal Therapy in Los Angeles & New York
Support for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the transition into parenthood.
Becoming a parent changes everything — your identity, your relationship, your body, your sense belonging. This shift actually has a name: matrescence, the developmental process of becoming a mother, much like adolescence is the process of becoming an adult. For many parents, this season also brings anxiety, grief, overwhelm, or a version of depression that doesn't look like what they expected. as their roles and identities have now changed.
At Securely Coupled, we offer perinatal therapy for individuals and couples navigating pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenthood across California and New York.
Whether you're preparing for a baby, adjusting to life after one, or processing something difficult and/or traumaticfrom your birth experience, we're here to help you through this transition.

Our Approach to Perinatal Therapy
Our therapists draw on attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and relational approaches like PACT and Internal Family Systems to help you process what you're carrying, without judgment, and without the pressure to be in love with every moment of parenthood. It's okay if you don't feel instantly bonded, endlessly grateful, or like yourself yet. We make space for the full truth of this transition, not just the parts that are easy to talk about. If you're coming in as a couple, we will support you in rebuilding connection and communication during one of the most disorienting transitions two people can go through together — one that can be beautiful and disorienting, joyful and humbling, all at once.
